1/35 scale Tamiya Austin 10hp Utility with aftermarket Archer vehicle
registration numbers, Formations fine chain, tow hooks and pulleys, Verlinden
open wooden boxes, Armorscale British pattern "Flimsy" fuel cans and
Verlinden concrete hard stand used for groundwork.
Modifications: Tarpaulin cover modified to remove side ventilation panels to
represent the style as per the TV version, Rear rolled section of tarp made
from Magic Sculpt replaces the kit version which is too short, Tarp securing
hooks added from brass strip – kit items are located too high (to facilitate
the moulded on securing ropes on the tarp cover), Tarpaulin eyelets added and
securing ropes added, the grille cover (used to obstruct airflow in cold
weather to keep engine warm) added from Magic Sculpt, headlights modified to
represent the style on the vehicle in photos, vehicle side lights and mirror
added from scratch built items, foot pedals added (not visible after painting!),
side window cut down to represent the lowered window in pictures and stowage
made up from scratch built items and other items from the spares box.
Model painted in Tamiya and Vallejo Acrylic paints, Lightly Weathered with AK
Productions "Streaking" enamel paints – mainly on the canvas
tarpaulin which would attract and be impregnated with dust and grime over time.
Some slight weathering with AK Productions "Mud Effect" enamel paint.
MIG pigments used for dust on the under body and wheel areas, with a slight
dusting on upper body areas.
Red and Blue arm of service flashes are spray painted through template.
Figure is a modified Tamiya figure with Hornet head and Magic sculpt
improvements to upper body and arms, plus add definition to pockets , etc.
